COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Portage, Michigan man entered a guilty plea in Branch County Circuit Court Monday to an amended count of attempted third degree criminal sexual conduct.
23-year-old Adam Lee Halsey was scheduled to go on trial next week in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Sherwood Township in June 2015.
Three other charges of third degree criminal sexual conduct against Halsey will be dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea.
Michigan State Police investigated after a complaint was filed by the grandmother of the alleged victim.
Halsey is scheduled to be sentenced April 23, 2018.
