BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Three Branch County girls basketball teams will be looking for district championships this evening.
Coldwater (20-2) plays Harper Creek (16-6) for the Class A district title at Battle Creek Lakeview starting at 7:00 p.m.. The Cardinals have beaten Harper twice this season by scores of 45-27 on January 22nd and 41-39 February 16. But Coldwater has hit a roadblock the last two seasons in the district finals. They lost two years ago to Edwardsburg 55-53 and last year to Lakeview 48-47.
The Lady Cardinals are looking to claim their first district championship in 23 years. Pregame coverage begins tonighjt at 6:30 p.m. on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB and on line at www.wtvbam.com.
It will be a Branch County showdown for the Class C District title at Bronson as the host Vikings take on Union City. Tip time is 6:00 p.m..
The Chargers are 9-14 while Bronson is 16-6. The Vikings have beaten the Chargers twice this season in the Big 8 Conference by scores of 45-21 December 15 and 54-26 February 20.
