BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school basketball, Coldwater improved their record to 20-2 and advanced to their third straight district championship game with a 56-35 victory Wednesday night over Battle Creek Lakeview.
Carlee Crabtree had 23 points, making five from beyond the 3-point line, and added 7 rebounds. Tyler Scheid scored nine points while Olivia Foley and Emilee Smoker each added seven points. Malorie Rzepka had a team high six assists.
The Lady Cardinals will travel to Lakeview on Friday to face Harper Creek (16-6) at 7:00 p.m. as they try and claim their first district title since the 1995 season. Harper Creek beat Kalamazoo Loy Norrix Wednesday 57-42

It was an amazing final minute of regulation as Bronson and Centreville exchanged the lead four times before the Vikings defeated the Bulldogs 33-32. Kiana Mayer hit the winning three point basket with 20 seconds left and led Bronson with 11 points while Centreville’s Jo Anna Lawson scored a game-high 14 points. Bronson improves to 16-6. Centreville closes 20-2 with both losses this season to Bronson.
It will be a Branch County match up for the Class C girls basketball district championship at Bronson on Friday night as Union City will face Bronson starting at 6:00 p.m.. The Chargers improved to 9-14 and advanced with a 58-39 victory over Mendon. Autumn Carpenter led Union City with 22 points. Friday’s winner will advance to the Bridgman Regional semifinal to face the winner of the Niles Brandywine district at 7:30 p.m. next Tuesday night.
