COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools district has been named an Academic State Champion by the non-partisan Bridge Magazine of Ann Arbor. Superintendent Terry Boguth made the announcement during Monday’s Board of Education meeting..
Coldwater earned the distinction through a national study which included nearly 500 school districts in Michigan that was conducted by Stanford University.
The schools were divided into three categories based on enrollment. Coldwater was a mid-sized district with its student population of nearly 3,000. Boguth said the study rated growth in grades three through eight. The top ten schools in each category were selected that had made the highest gain in five years.
Boguth pointed out the Coldwater district made six grade levels of growth in five years.
