COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was formally charged for alleged sex crimes involving an eight year old girl and then sharing pictures of the alleged incidents on line during an arraignment on Thursday in Branch County District Court.
23-year-old Brandon Michael Biggs is facing five charges after he was arrested Wednesday at a home on Harrison Street following a Michigan State Police investigation.
He is facing three charges for child sex abuse and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
The State Police said in a news release that the suspect allegedly molested and took sexually explicit photos of the girl for the last six months up until last week.
Biggs allegedly shared the photos to interested parties online. Troopers say the allegations involved the phone application known as Kik.
The child has been placed in a safe environment by Branch County Department Human Services-Child Protective Services.
Bond for Biggs has been set at $350,000 with no ten percent allowed. A no contact order was issued on behalf of the alleged victim. A probable cause hearing was scheduled for March 6 with a preliminary exam on March 13, 2018.
