COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The rain ended Wednesday but not before three to as much as five inches fell over a couple of days. That, combined with the rapid melting of nearly a foot of snow, has led to a number of high water issues around Branch County.
The Branch County Road Commission updated their list of road closings on Wednesday afternoon. As of last night, there were 20 reported closings.
Hollow Road (Taggart to Hiska)
South Road (Checklich to Village of Union City)
Gorbell Road (Jonesville to Bidwell).
Wattles Road (Ladyman to Athens)
Fisher Road (Stringtown to Hillsdale County) (washout, pavement has collapsed)
Willowbrook (Tanner Run to Dorrance)
Kelly Road (Brown to Lester)
Central Road (Smith to Behnke).
Wildwood Road on the east side of the Ray-Quincy Road intersection.
Lester Road (Phillips to Kelley)
Ambs (M-86 to Wattles)
Slisher (Snow Prairie-Bowers)
Clearwater (Cranson – Nettlemen)
Bowers (Sims – Hoopingarner)
Mcnitt ( Fremont – Colvin)
Sebring (Briggs – Ray Quincy)
Gorbell (Dayburg – Girard)
Wolf (Phillips – Potter)
Kosmerick (Orland – Bawden)
Only residents that live on the closed sections are legally allowed to go around any road closed barricade. A number of washouts have also been reported.
