STEVENSVILLE, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School’s dual meet wrestling season came to end Wednesday night as they were beaten by sixth-ranked Stevensville-Lakeshore 70-4 in the finals of the Division 2 M.H.S.A.A. Team Wrestling Regional tournament at Lakeshore.
Coldwater advanced to the finals by defeating Harper Creek 48-30. Wins for the Cardinals against Harper Creek came from Marshall Hoard (103), Zeke Nowicki (112), Zoe Nowicki (125), Hamza Muflihi (130), Damien Cole (135), Carter Hoard (140), Matt Gipple (152), Zach Miller (171) and Clark Cole (285). Damien Cole got the only Coldwater victory against Lakeshore.
The Cardinals recorded the most dual meet victories in the programs history as they finished 31-7.
Division 4 at Three Oaks River Valley
Mendon defeated Bronson 54-21 in the Division 4 Team Wrestling Regional semifinals at Three Oaks River Valley. Alex Tyer scored a pin for the Vikings at 285. Ruger Ranney won on a decision at 160. Chase Gibson at 215 and Ben Modert at 112 won on voids.
