COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One year to the day after he was accused of leading police on a high speed chase which according to court documents reached speeds as high as 135 miles an hour, a Battle Creek man admitted his guilt in Branch County Circuit Court Monday.
32-year-old Joshua Allan Miller entered a guilty plea to a charge of third degree fleeing and eluding. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 26, 2018.
His Branch County sentence will run concurrent to his Calhoun County case.
At the time of the chase, Miller was being sought by Battle Creek Police for allegedly holding an ex-girlfriend against her will for three days and nearly strangling her.
After being spotted by Battle Creek, rhe chase went from Battle Creek to the west side of Coldwater where it ended near Munson Street thanks to the deployment of stop sticks.
Miller has a prior criminal history that includes charges of home invasion, aggravated stalking and domestic violence.
