COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – If National Weather Service forecasts are accurate, we are going to get nailed with up to a foot of snow Friday, which will lead to near impossible driving conditions and a long weekend for school children.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Branch, St. Joseph, Hillsdale, Calhoun and Steuben Counties from 9:00 p.m. Thursday night to midnight on Friday.
Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches are expected in portions of northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.
National Weather Service meteorologist Lanny Fisher says conditions will worsen throughout the day on Friday.
Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the morning and afternoon commutes on Friday. A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
