BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles earned their first victory of the season on Thursday night as they won at Union City 32-18.
The Orioles dominated the first half as they built a 19-2 halftime lead. Union City tried to come back in the second half and used a 9-4 third quarter to cut the Orioles lead to 23-11. But the deficit was to much to overcome and Quincy sealed the win with a 9-7 fourth quarter.
Hannah Clark led the Orioles with 11 points while Megann Russell had six points to lead Union City.
Quincy is now 1-5 while the Chargers fall to 0-7 overall and 0-6 in the Big Eight Conference.
In another Big 8 Conference game involving a Branch County team, Bronson lost at home to Homer 53-33. Hayley Wilson led Bronson with 11 points. Jenna Salek and Addison Harris both had six rebounds.
