COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally approved a request on Tuesday to fill the open Friend of the Court Enforcement Officer position.
The office plans to promote receptionist Tammy Holbrook to fill the position as of next Monday.
Holbrook was hired in 2009. Lona Julien from the F.O.C. is also looking to fill the secretary positon that Holbrook is vacating. But she plans to hold off on posting the position to make sure Holbrook is comfortable with her new duties.
The formal action allows her to fill the secretary position at her own discretion.
In other business during a brief and routine meeting, the Commissioners approved a request from Veterans Affairs to purchase a new 15 passenger van that has less than 30,000 miles on it.
Veteran’s Counselor and Trust Fund Agent Charles Scott told commissioners during their work session last Thursday that the money for the van is in their budget and it has been donated.
They are buying the van for just over $25,000 from Stillwell Ford in Hillsdale.
