QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Homer Trojans made it a weekend sweep of Branch County teams on Saturday as they pounded the Quincy Orioles 83-42.
Quincy dug themselves a hole, down 19-4 at the end of the first quarter, then 34-19 at the half. Homer poured it on in the 3rd quarter, outscoring Quincy 31-18, to go aheaf 65-32 after three quarters.
Kyler Economou had a massive game, despite the crushing defeat as he poured in 29 points and hauled down 13 rebounds. Ashtyn Morris scored six points and had 4 rebounds.
The loss drops Quincy’s record to 4-4 on the season and 3-3 in the Big Eight. Homer also won the JV game 61-20.
Meanwhile, Bronson used 10 three-point baskets to win a non-conference game at Bellevue 53-43. Mason Harris and Aden Hathaway both hit four buckets from distance as they led the Vikings in scoring. Harris poured in 16 points while Hathaway had 15 points and Reagan Mayer added 10 points. Noah Houtz grabbed 11 rebounds while Hathaway had five assists. The win improved the Vikings record to 4-5.
