JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school basketball, the Coldwater Cardinals broke open a close game with a 20-11 fourth quarter as they won at Jackson Lumen Christi 50-40 Tuesday night. The Cardinals are now 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Interstate 8 which leaves them a half game back of Parma Western for first place in the conference.
Gage McGuire scored a game-high 22 points for Coldwater. He also had nine rebounds and two assists. Brady Beckhusen had 12 points and four rebounds. McDonald’s Player of the Game Damon Beckhusen had seven points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
JV— Jackson Lumen Christi 51, Coldwater 36. Jaxon Janusz led Coldwater with 10 points. Hunter St. Clair and Tyler Scherer both had seven points.

Meanwhile, Coldwater A.D. Todd Farmer says the Coldwater at Harper Creek girls-boys basketball doubleheader that was snowed out last Friday has been rescheduled for Monday, January 22nd. Girls game at 6:00pm, boys game at 7:30pm.

The Chargers improve to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the Big 8. Larson Kever led the Chargers with 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Grady Kever had 15 points while Blade Gordon added 12 points. Union City won the J.V. game 48-41.
