QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Community Schools Board of Education will be asked Monday night to give Interim Superintendent Martin Chard the authorization to work through the Michigan Leadership Institute to post the district’s Superintendent position for the 2018-2019 school year.
The M.L.I. is currently helping the Branch Intermediate School District search for a new Superintendent, with Joe Lopez retiring at the end of July.
Chard has been serving as Quincy’s interim Superintendent after Craig Artist resigned and retired last July as part of the fallout from the Jason Ferrell criminal sexual conduct case.
Meanwhile, the Quincy School District plans to advertise for a new Business Manager either in February or March. Bill Childs is serving as the Interim Business Manager for the rest of this school year.
The board is scheduled Monday night to elect its officers for the upcoming year during its organizational meeting.
They are also scheduled to approve projects for the upcoming year that will be paid for out of the district’s sinking fund.
