COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A wintry mix is still in the forecast for Friday morning before it turns to all snow but according to the latest information from the National Weather Service, it looks like the heavier amounts of snow from this system will stay to the south of Branch County.
A light glaze of ice is expected to make for a slick Friday morning commute.
The changeover to snow is expected to take place in Branch County at around 6:00am.
The latest models show the greatest potential for over six inches of snow will be Friday night through Saturday in eastern Indiana and in northwest Ohio.
The area that will likely get the most amount of snow includes Fort Wayne and Toledo.
In addition, gusty north winds may result in areas of blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibilities.
Since forecasters are unable to determine the track of the storm, exact snowfall amounts for Branch County were not known as of Wednesday.
