COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council passed a resolution Monday night that supports this year’s Michigan Department of Transportation improvement work in the city.
MDOT plans to resurface Business Loop I-69, Division Street, and Marshall Street from the Fenn Road exit north to Pierce Street. The project will also include the updating of the railroad crossing at Park and Division, as well as traffic signals along the route.
MDOT is also recommending that Division be reconfigured from four lanes to three with five foot wide bicycle lanes in each direction.
The Council also introduced an addition to city zoning ordinances which would allow special use permits for multi-family dwellings within the Central Business District be adopted. The Coldwater Planning Commission recommended its adoption last Wednesday. A second reading and final action by the City Council is scheduled for January 22, 2018.
