COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After a long discussion, the Coldwater City Council approved the low bid of $44,500 from MCSA Group of East Grand Rapids to design the new youth baseball and softball diamonds for the city. The bid would cover the design, bid specifications and construction documents.
City Manager Keith Baker says MCSA has done work in Coldwater.
Baker said this is something you can not design on the back of a napkin.
Baker also felt the new diamonds will be an improvement.
The current Little League diamonds reverted back to the City of Coldwater in the fall of 2016 when the Coldwater Little League Board voted to dissolve.
The new diamonds on Northshore Drive will be needed because the new Coldwater School District 4th and 5th grade building will be located where the current diamonds are after district voters approved a $29.7 millage and bonding question in November 2017.
