COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -The Coldwater Police Department has hired a new officer with local ties.
City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for the City Council meeting Monday night that Cody Longrey is the newest Officer with the department.
Longrey previously served with the Quincy Police Department. He was a Michigan State Police Explorer while attending Coldwater High School and also took part in the Law Enforcement program at the Branch Area Career Center.
Baker says Longrey graduated with a degree and successful completion of the academy at Grand Valley State University.
