COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – If you’re getting tired of these bone-chilling temperatures, hang in there. The nearly two week cold snap is just about over.
National Weather Service forecasters say warmer and more seasonal temperatures are expected to move in on Sunday with highs in the upper 20s.
The average high for this time of year in Coldwater is 30.
The thermometer may get above the freezing mark on Monday with a forecast high in the mid 30s.
The temperature has not been above freezing in Coldwater since December 23rd.
In fact, the last time the mercury has been above 20 in Coldwater was Christmas Day when the high hit 21 degrees.
Friday’s low of nine degrees below zero at the Branch County Memorial Airport marked the eighth day out of the last 11 that the mercury has dipped below zero in Coldwater.
