COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Memorial Airport Manager Dean VanNasdale has decided not to renew his contract for 2018 but he has agreed to stay on while the county searches for his replacement.
VanNasdale has been the airport manager for the past four years. He submitted a letter to County Administrator Bud Norman on December 15th which said there were a variety of reasons for his decision and that it came after serious consideration.
He has agreed to work on a month-by-month basis until a replacement can be contracted, tested, licensed and installed.
VanNasdale added he would be willing to help train his replacement once that person is found.
VanNasdale said in his letter to Norman that they have overcome some significant obstacles and he feels they have a safer and more productive airport now than ever before.
