UNDATED (WTVB) – National Weather Service forecasters say the Big Chill is expected to ease on Sunday when the high temperature is expected to get up to near freezing. But with the higher temperatures comes the possibility of a system moving through that could result in snow accumulations and travel issues early next week.
The bitter cold weather is getting to be like a broken record. The low temperature at the Branch County Memorial Airport went below zero on six out of eight mornings between December 26th and January 2nd with record lows of ten below on the 27th and 11 below on the 28th.
The temperature has not been above freezing in Coldwater since December 23rd when the high that day was 37 degrees.
Before the temperatures moderate this weekend, more bitter cold air is expected with air temperatures at or below zero Thursday and Friday night.
