COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Cold temperatures and gusty winds have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Chill Advisory until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Very cold wind chills of 15 below zero to 25 below zero are expected. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
In addition, snow showers are expected to bring some more light snow accumalation across the area.
The NWS has also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for a good portion of southwest Lower Michigan, with snow showers expected for New Year’s Day. Another round of lake effect snow is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday, with another storm system with more snow possible by the weekend.
