JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater bowlers split their matches on Thursday afternoon with Jackson Northwest at Jax 60 Lanes as the Cardinals girls squad won 29-1 but the Coldwater boys lost a hard fought match to the Mounties 18-12.
The Northwest girls squad only had three bowlers. Coldwater won both regular games 893-394 and 845-445 and took totals 1738-839. The Cardinals won both Baker games 116-75 and 180-80 which gave a totals win of 296-155. All five girls contributed to the win. Violet Waltke had a 213, Rilee Cooper-Lewis rolled a 193, Emalyn Shidler had a 172, Annabelle Kling had a 170 and Dezirae Kling had a 171.
The Boys match came down to the final baker game. Coldwater won game one 925-911, lost game two 951-842 and lost totals 1862-1767. The baker games started good for Coldwater as the Cardinals took game one 273-149, lost game two 212-144 but took taking totals 417-361. The boys were led by Ryan Sturgeon’s 244 and Chance Cook with a 218.
Coldwater will see action this Saturday in the I-8 conference singles tournament at Jax 60 in Jackson.
