COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Members of the Michigan South Central Power Agency board expressed a desire Friday to look further at a study from Courtney and Associates on the future of the agency before making a final decision.
The study was presented during last month’s meeting and made numerous recommendations which included staying with American Municipal Power to get power and other services.
Board Chair Thomas Tarkiewicz of Marshall felt each member has to make their own decision.
Board member and Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Director Jeff Budd said there were no bad choices but he also felt the board should not make a quick decision.
Pam Sullivan from American Municipal Power said the M.S.C.P.A. will not go away no matter what happens.
American Municipal Power is managing the agency through at least next June after the M.S.C.P.A. and former General Manager Paul Beckhusen parted ways in September.
