COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City was planning to leave the Michigan South Central Power Agency at the end of June but agreements have not been finalized yet.
Several options are still being explored by the current five members of the agency board and a nearly hour long discussion was held during Thursday’s monthly board meeting.
Attorney Steve Mann said getting everything done by June 30 would be tight.
Union City Village Manager Chris Mathis agreed with Board Chair Tom Tarkiewicz of Marshall that it was time to stop kicking the can down the road.
Clinton’s Kevin Cornish said he was not trying to stall Union City’s exit but he wanted to have his people review things and he felt the June 30th date was unrealistic.
No formal action was taken by the board on Thursday.
This is the direct result of Paul Beckhusean. He has no place on any board or commission for the city or county. He is a several million taxpayer dollars mistake. I still believe he is corrupt and acted illegally.
