PORTAGE, MI (WTVB) – In what is expected to be a rebuilding year for the Coldwater High School girls varsity basketball program, the Lady Cardinals dropped their opening game at Portage Central Tuesday night 66-34..
Four year starter Carlee Crabtree led Coldwater with eight points, with freshman Brooklyn Kerry contributing five points and six rebounds, McDonald’s Player of the Game Maddie Beckhusen had five points and two rebounds, Mallory Wilber had four points, Abby Herman scored three points and pulled down four rebounds, Kassidy Bishop had three points, Allison Miller scored two points with two steals, and Brooke Moore had two points and two rebounds

The Quincy girls varsity basketball team opened their season with a 63-12 win over Battle Creek St. Philip. Maddie Hinds led the Lady Orioles with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Katie Rathbun had 10 points, seven rebounds, seven steals, and seven assists, and Hannah Clark had 10 points and eight assists.
