COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of two Indiana suspects who were charged with multiple counts for the alleged break in and theft of items from storage units on Coldwater’s south side in July 2019 entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
37-year-old Jennifer Renee Oliver entered no contest pleas to charges of attempted breaking and entering with intent and receiving an concealing stolen property over $1,000 but under $20,000.
Seven counts of breaking and entering with intent and a charge of possession of burglary tools will be dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for her pleas. Oliver is scheduled to be sentenced January 27, 2020.
Oliver and 44-year-old Robby Alan McCarty were arrested on Marshall Road just north of Coldwater after several Shaffmaster U-Store-N-Lock storage units on North Angola Road were broken into July 9, 2019.
McCartney was arrested about a week after he failed to appear for a Steuben County, Indiana court hearing on a driving while license suspended charge.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case. Michigan State Police and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
