The two-time MHSAA Division Eight football champion Reading Rangers got a loud welcome home on Friday after they defeated Beal City 33-6 earlier in the day at Ford Field.
A rally was held in the Reading High School gym which gave fans community members one more chance to voice their support for the Rangers.
Head Coach Rick Bailey wrapped up his 32nd season of coaching the Rangers football team by thanking community members for their encouragement and support.
For the second straight year, the Rangers slept in their own beds Thursday night instead of staying at a Detroit area hotel. They got a police and fire escort out of Reading as they left in the predawn darkness for the two hour trip to Detroit. The McDonald’s restaurant in Jonesville supplied breakfast for the team.
