COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council is scheduled to award bids on a pair of road projects during Monday evening’s meeting.
They are scheduled to award a bid of over $268,000 to Parrish Excavating of Quincy for the resurfacing of Western Avenue and State Street from Grand Street to Bishop Avenue.
Five bids were submitted for the project which has been budgeted for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
Parrish has done other work for the city including the recent construction of Thompson Blvd. and the Milnes Plaza parking lot project.
The Council is also scheduled to award a bid of just under $412,000 from Concord Excavating and Grading of Concord for the Sauk River Drive road improvement project.
There were six bids for the project. City Manager Keith Baker says Concord Excavating is in the process of completing the reconstruction of Smith and North Monroe Streets for the City.
The project is budgeted for the 2020-2021 fiscal year with an 80 percent Michigan Department of Transportation grant up to $375,000. The City’s 20 percent match comes out to over $82,000.
