QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The “John Mitchell Comedy Night” was held recently in honor of the former Sons of the Quincy American Legion Commander John Mitchell who passed away last April.
Just over $9,200 was raised which was divided between the charities dear to his heart. Receiving funds were the Branch County Conservation District, Envirothon Scholarships which are managed by the district, and the Sons of the Quincy American Legion Post #157.
Mitchell was the former Conservation District Chair.
Organizers say the evening included a pulled pork dinner, a live auction, raffle baskets, two professional comedians, and a D.J. who kept things going late into the night.
Current Commander Tim Wilkinson says they definitely plan on making this an annual event.
