COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A list of nearly $842,000 worth of special projects was given tentative approval by the Coldwater City Council on Monday night after a nearly 45 minute discussion.
A spread sheet of the proposed work included $500,000 for renovation work at the Four Corners Park. There would also be funding for downtown rest rooms, additional sidewalks, an adult soccer field, a canoe and kayak launch and theme street parties.
Mayor Tom Kramer says the projects can become a reality thanks to the city’s fund balance.
City Manager Keith Baker said the half million for the Four Corners Park would be for the northeast and southeast parts of the park.
There was a $487,000 bid submitted for the Four Corners work. Bids that were initially submitted in 2019 were thrown out because they were all over budget.
The top priority of Council members was the construction of unisex rest rooms in the downtown area. They would be built at the former location of the Eric Goodwin law office on South Monroe. The city bought the empty building and later tore it down.
