COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Mayor Tom Kramer was re-elected to another two year term in Tuesday’s city election as he defeated challenger Dan Corwin by an almost two-to-one margin. Kramer collected 65 percent of the vote as he defeated Corwin 910-499.
Tuesday’s election was the first time since he was elected Mayor in 2011 that Kramer had faced a challenge on the ballot. Alexia Rish ran against Kramer as a write-in candidate two years ago.
There will be a new first ward member on the Coldwater City Council after Emily Rissman defeated incumbent Cisco Ortiz 132-77. Ortiz had served on the Council since 2007 and was seeking a fourth term.
The 31-year-old Rissman graduated from Bronson High School in 2007. She works for the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency and is a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves.
City Council members Chris Pierce, John Petzko and Scott Houtz ran unopposed in Tuesday’s election.
