STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – The season ended for Coldwater High School’s girls volleyball team Monday night in the opening round of the Division One District Tournament at Sturgis as they were defeated by Battle Creek Lakeview three games to one by scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-13, 25-20.
Olivia Foley ended her four year varsity career as she led Coldwater in kills with 12, digs with 24, and assists with 20.
Abby Herman had 10 kills and 18 digs, Amber Sunderland had 16 digs, Maddie Beckhusen had 14 digs, Laynee Paarlberg had 18 assists and 6 kills, and Veronica Gonzalez had 11 kills and 8 digs,
Coldwater ended the season with a record of 20-18-6.
Quincy’s season also ended Monday in the opening round of the Division Three District tournament at Hudson as they were beaten by Jonesville 3-0.
Union City will play the host Centreville Bulldogs in the Division Three District Tournament semifinals at Centreville on Wednesday night. Centreville advanced on Monday with a 3-0 victory over Constantine.
Bronson will take on White Pigeon in the other district semifinal. The winners meet for the district title on Thursday night.
Tekonsha advanced to the semifinals at the Division Four District Tournament at Colon as they defeated Pansophia Academy in the opening round 3-0.
The Indians will play Athens in the Wednesday night semifinals. The winner will face either Burr Oak or Colon for the district title Thursday night.
