BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek teenager is in custody after stealing a vehicle and rolling it on I-94 Saturday.
Calhoun County Deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle out of Albion and attempted to stop the 17-year-old driver at Old U.S. Highway 27 and I-94 near Marshall. The driver then fled, entered I-94 with Michigan State Troopers taking part in the chase.
The driver then left the roadway, then re-entered striking a State Police patrol vehicle, before leaving the roadway again and rolling the vehicle.
He is currently lodged in the Calhoun County Jail for fleeing and eluding along with an outstanding warrant for a weapons offense.
