QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council passed an ordinance during a special meeting Tuesday which would regulate recreational marijuana establishments in the village.
According to the language in the 13 page ordinance, such establishments would include growers, safety compliance facilities, marijuana processers, microbusinesses, retailers, secure transporters, or any other type of recreational marijuana-related business licensed by the State of Michigan.
The ordinance would allow up to 15 marijuana growers, up to five processors, safety compliance and secure transporters and up to three retailers.
A $5,000 nonrefundable municipal license application fee would be paid by each marijuana establishment applying to be licensed. The municipal license fee is in addition to any other fees required, including, but not limited to, zoning fees.
A license may be revoked after an administrative hearing for such violations as a conviction for delivering a controlled substance to a minor or if the Village determines there is a public nuisance.
