COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A ghoulish weather forecast of rain mixed with snow, temperatures in the 30’s and winds gusting up to 40 miles an hour may put a kibosh on Halloween plans for Thursday night. Mother Nature is not cooperating with the local ghosts and goblins this year.
Saturday’s dreadful weather of heavy rain and strong winds forced the cancellation of some Halloween activities and put a damper on the annual Coldwater Halloween Parade.
For those who are brave enough to be out on what is expected to be a miserable night, the following are the official Trick or Treat hours….
5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Coldwater
6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Quincy (after the parade)
6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Union City
5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Bronson
As of Thursday morning, the Halloween Parades in Bronson and Quincy will still be held. If there is a change in plans, we will pass along that information.
Bronson’s Halloween Parade is scheduled to be held once again on Thursday night with the lineup at 6:15 p.m. at Century Bank. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at the Chicago Street School, where the family friendly S.P.O.O.K.S. event will take place until 8:00 p.m.. S.P.O.O.K.S. stands for Supportive People of Our Kids Safety.
A Trunk or Treat sponsored by the Bronson Free Masons is scheduled to take place behind the Bronson Library from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.. Prizes are being donated by local businesses for best decorated vehicles.
Quincy’s Halloween Parade was cancelled early Thursday afternoon because of the weather. Safe Trick or Treating will still be held as planned, however to keep everyone out of the rain the line will start at the high school gym doors. The doors will open at 5:45, trick-or-treat starts at 6:00.
