COLDWATER, MI 9WTVB) – It was a soggy and windy weekend around Branch County.
As predicted by the National Weather Service, rain moved in around 12 noon Saturday and did not let up until the late evening hours.
There were consistent rainfall measurements reported from throughout the region for the 24 hours ending early Sunday morning were between 1.5 and 1.8 inches.
The low pressure system which brought in the heavy rain then produced some strong winds on Sunday morning.
A wind gust of 39 miles an hour was recorded at about 7:30 a.m. at the Branch County Memorial Airport.
Branch County Road Commission crews had to be called out to take care of about a dozen reports of downed trees and branches.
The heavy rain did not lead to any washouts or high water areas.
There were scattered power outages reported in Branch County but nothing on a widespread scale.
