MENDON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A driver is injured after a car/deer crash in St. Joseph County.
It occurred just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Michigan Avenue and Hallam Road in Mendon Township.
Deputies say Pamela Frost was traveling westbound on Michigan when she swerved to miss a deer, went off the roadway, and struck a tree.
She had to be extricated from the vehicle and was rushed to Bronson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Bowers towing was called in to remove the vehicle. Investigators say drugs and alcohol were not factors in this crash.
This comes after a new report from Farmer’s Insurance was released saying Michigan ranks 8th for the highest roadway animal accidents in the fall compared to every other state.
