COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two cases involving a Hillsdale County woman who allegedly got into confrontations with police in late June will go to trial after she declined a plea offer Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
A trial date for 34-year-old Erin Nicole Peet has not been scheduled yet.
Peet is facing six charges in connection with the incidents which took place within a week of each other. They include four counts of assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer. She is also charged with third degree fleeing from a police officer and receiving and concealing stolen property.
One of the incidents took place on June 27th when Peet allegedly stole a man’s 2016 Jeep Wrangler in Allen Township. Eventually, there was a pursuit down Division Street in Coldwater which ended when the suspect lost control of the vehicle on a curve and came to a stop on the lawn of a car repair business.
As far as the Hillsdale County portion of the case, the Hillsdale Daily News reports Peet was recently given a nine month jail sentence in that county after she entered a no contest plea to a reduced high court misdemeanor charge of joyriding.
