QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – As part of a five year contract with Republic Services that was renewed two years ago, the Quincy Village Council approved a monthly rate increase for trash and recycling services Tuesday evening.
Village officials say in order to help cover costs, the monthly rate for Village residents this year will go from $14.04 to $15.30.
Monthly rates in the Village are scheduled to go up to $16.74 in 2020 and to $18.22 in 2021.
In other business during Tuesday’s meeting, the Village Council appointed Quincy Assistant Fire Chief Rod Bailey to the Branch County 911 Board. Police Chief Jeremy Burch will serve as an alternate.
Meanwhile, the posting of the Quincy Village Manager’s job should be taking place in the not too distant future as the Michigan Municipal League is finalizing the job description. Whoever is hired to replace Eric Zuzga would get a salary of between $64,000 and $74,000.
