BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — After a lot of discussion, the Battle Creek City Commission on Tuesday night approved an ordinance which permits and regulates Adult Use Marihuana Establishments within the City, as well as a zoning ordinance setting out those areas where the authorized marihuana establishments would be a permitted use.
The ordinance authorizes six types of marihuana establishments, but prohibits Special Licenses, at this time.
Those who want to set up a recreational marijuana business in Battle Creek would need to pay a $6,000 application fee and get a pre-qualification letter from the State of Michigan.
A complete background check would then be conducted.
