COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A member of the City of Coldwater Planning Commission called on city officials Monday night to do something that would control large farm animals in the city.
Chris Stevens made the request, saying there has been some past issues and he has received a number of complaints. He also felt current ordinances were to vague.
Stevens told Commission Chair Aloha Miller he would like to see City Planner Dean Walrack put together an ordinance change that would be stricter and have enforcement. Stevens said he would like the city to ban goats, horses, cows, and other large farm animals.
Jan Nageldinger with the Humane Society of Branch County felt like they were on the same page with the Planning Commission.
Nageldinger suggested that the treatment of dogs should be included.
No formal action was taken Monday night but the matter is expected to come back before the Planning Commission in the future.
