COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A South Bend, Indiana woman entered guilty pleas to a pair of charges Monday in Branch County Circuit Court following a July confrontation with the Branch County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police.
24-year-old Natasha Martinez admitted her guilt to assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police and attempting to disarm a police officer. Three other charges will be dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for her guilty pleas.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 18, 2019.
She was arrested following a confrontation on Sprague Road in Coldwater Township.
Police were dispatched there on a report of an unwanted suspect. Court documents indicate her ex-boyfriend and another man had previously ordered her not to be on the property.
Martinez was taken into custody after she allegedly tried to run away from a Michigan State Police trooper. Court documents also say she resisted while being placed under arrest.
