PORTAGE, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater senior Kyle Foulk made it to the podium on Saturday at the prestigious Portage Cross-Country Invitational. Foulk earned the 35th place medal while leading his Cardinal team to a 24th place finish in the 42-team field. Senior Elka Machan made the podium for a second year with her sixth place finish among some of the toughest competitors in the State. Machan led the Lady Cards to a commendable 16th place finish in a 44-team field.
And the Quincy, Union City and Bronson teams were among 22 schools from Michigan and Ohio that competed in the Division Two and Three meets at the Hudson Invitational on Saturday. Bronson finished sixth in the boys meet while Quincy was 11th and Union City was 22nd. Bronson’s Luis Ortiz was seventh while Austin Wells was 23rd. Quincy was led by Erik Butchart who was 11th. Rhett Reif was 12th and Jacob Reif was 30th. Colin Priest was 115th for Union City. Bronson was seventh in the girls meet while Quincy was 19th. Union City did not have enough runners for a team score. Bronson’s Grace Welch was 26th while Abby Ware was 28th. Makenzie Blatter was 91st for Quincy while Trinity Connin was 120th for Union City.
