HOMER, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles upset Big Eight Conference leader Homer 66-62 on the Trojans home court Monday night.
Quincy shot out of the gate fast, jumping on Homer for a 21-5 lead after the first quarter.
Homer edged Quincy 15-12 in the second quarter, making the score 33-20 in favor of the Orioles at the half.
The Trojans continued to creep closer as they outscored the Orioles 18-15 to bring the score to 48-38 in favor of Quincy heading into the final stanza.
Homer had a 24-18 edge in the fourth quarter but the Orioles had enough to hold on for the win.
Kyler Economou had a phenomenal game, scoring an incredible 39 points, hauling down 15 rebounds, dishing out 2 assists, and grabbing one steal.
Kyle Rodesiler filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 15 boards, and six assists in a great all-around performance. Sam Sawyer added six points.
Quincy is now 6-8 overall and 5-6 in the Big Eight. The Orioles travel to Bronson to take on the Vikings on Wednesday.
