COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – September was turning into a dry month in Branch County, but things changed dramatically Friday afternoon.
Rain gauges throughout the area were overflowing as storms produced downpours.
The Michigan State University Extension Service rain gauge at the Bloom Dairy Farm northwest of Coldwater measured 3.83 inches of rain between mid afternoon Friday and Sunday night.
That included 2.2 inches of rain which fell Friday.
Up until Friday afternoon, only one inch of rain had been measured for the whole month.
