COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – On Senior Day Saturday for the Coldwater High School varsity boys soccer team, all the scoring came from seniors as the Cardinals beat Otsego 6-0 in non-conference action.
Ayash Ahmed led the way with three goals and one assist, while Abe Alhjaji and Mubarak Said each had one goal and one assist. Koby Stewart scored the other goal, with two assists from Mohamed Nasser and one from Mohamed Aljabaly.
Senior Ahmed Salem made four saves in goal, as Coldwater outshot Otsego 23-6 for their third straight shutout.
The Cardinals improve to 10-5 overall. They will open the Interstate 8 Conference Gold Division tournament at Parma Western Tuesday.
The Coldwater junior varsity team beat Galesburg Augusta Saturday 8-0. Hisham Zamzami had three goals, with two goals each for Naja Norman and Brayden Boyd, and one for Joseph Closson. Bauston Feldbauer earned the shutout in goal.
