UNION TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A barn and the contents inside were destroyed in a Union Township fire which broke out early Tuesday morning.
The blaze at 668 West Girard Road near Arborgast Road was reported at 1:54 a.m..
Union City firefighters were initially dispatched. They received mutual aid from Athens Township, Sherwood Township, Tekonsha and Burlington crews.
Union City Fire Chief Dave Hughes says it took about 40 minutes to get the fire under control and crews did not clear the scene until after 5:00 a.m..
No injuries were reported. Hughes says the fire is still under investigation and a dollar estimate on the damage has not been totaled up yet.
Among the items inside were several vehicles and numerous tires.
