WHEATLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A teenager who was one of two persons injured in a three vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Hillsdale County is reported to be in critical but stable condition at University of Michigan Hospital.
The Michigan State Police at Jackson reports says the crash took place at about 3:40 p.m. on Meridian Road and Stewart Road in Wheatland Township.
Troopers determined a vehicle traveling north on Meridian was trying to pass another vehicle when it rear ended a vehicle that was stopped to turn left. It then collided with a second vehicle that was traveling south on Meridian.
The critically injured teen from Mosherville was driving the southbound vehicle.
He was first taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson before being transferred to U of M.
A 60-year-old man from Hudson was also injured in the crash. He was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance for treatment.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department, Addison Fire and Rescue, Hudson Ambulance, and U of M Survival Flight. The crash remains under investigation.
