COLDWAER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was arraigned in Branch County District Court Monday following a police pursuit between Coldwater and Bronson.
31-year-old Robert Manley Wilson Junior is facing charges of fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest. Additional charges could be filed by prosecutors. His bond has been set at $100,000.
The pursuit started just after 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of West Chicago Street following a report of a van driving recklessly. It ended about a half hour later near the Dollar General Storeon on Bronson’s east side.
Speeds got up to 80 miles an hour during the pursuit as it headed west on U.S. 12 and there were reports of at least a couple of near accidents.
Coldwater and Bronson Police along with the Branch County Sheriff’s Department were involved in the pursuit.
Online records from the Michigan Department of Corrections show that Wilson was discharged from prison last February after being sentenced in Branch County back in 2014 for attempted unarmed robbery.
